East London Wedding // Shawn & Rachael

Weddings

Shawn and Rachael’s East London wedding was a non-stop whirlwind of events, and we’re not quite sure how it all got squeezed into 8 hours! We first met Shawn and Rachael at a wedding fair last September where they happened to be walking past and came to take a look (i.e bag a glass of free champagne). They were a super friendly couple, and so excited to be planning their wedding day together, we hit it off and they booked an engagement session to boot!  Shawn and Rachael met working at a summer kids camp a few years ago ‘where Rachel fell for my awesome guitar playing skills and Aussie accent’ said Shawn.

We really felt like we journeyed with Shawn and Rachel, from their engagement session with us, to their first dance – it was an amazing ride to have been a part of and we felt honoured to capture it. We always encourage getting to know our couples as much as possible before their big day as it really helps them warm up in front of the camera and we end up feeling more like friends.

Shawn and Rachel decided on an East London Wedding, where their local church is based – Christ Church Spitalfields. It’s an iconic building just opposite the famous Spitalfields market with an amazing naturally lit interior that made our hearts swell (photographers will get what we mean). After all the tears of joy and hurricane of confetti, they held a quick mini reception inside the church before we hijacked them for their couple portraits around the city. What we loved about these guys was that they were up for anything, basically walking across Millennium Bridge in their wedding getup didn’t phase them – but London is that kind of a place,  you can do anything and it’s just kind of normal. Their main reception was at The Stationer’s Hall, one of the City’s original Livery Halls. It was a gorgeous traditional venue with a feeling of grandeur to it, and the secret garden at the back was incredible, apparently it has the oldest tree in London planted in it – how’s that for a fun fact. These guys ate, laughed, cried and danced the rest of the night away, so take a look and enjoy this East London wedding ride!

Bride and Groom getting married in Shetland Scotland Wedding Photographer
Scotland Wedding // Raphaëlle & Barnaby
Where to even start with this unforgettable Scotland wedding adventure! Raphaëlle & Barnaby are two very special souls who decided to get married on Shetland, and boy were we excited when they filled us in on their plans! Raph and Barney met while surfing on Gulberwick beach after Raph decided to complete her training in Shetland a number of years ago. They couldn't think of anywhere else where they would want to tie the knot, and so flew their closest friends and family out to this savage beauty of an island, which is located about half way between Scotland and Norway. The day we arrived to scout it all out (it was the summer solstice), ...

Bride and Groom walk through Bardi Castle Italian countryside wedding
Italian Countryside Wedding // Rachel & Jamie
Rachel and Jamie's Italian countryside wedding was an unforgettable experience. Not only were we excited about shooting in dreamy Italy, we couldn't believe our eyes when Rachel and Jamie emailed to say they were getting married in the beautiful castle of Bardi, (being a Destination Wedding Photographer has its perks!). Italian countryside wedding. Nestled firmly on a rock outcrop, facing a swath of rolling hills, mountains and valleys, you can hardly tell where the 8th Century castle begins and ends, as it blends in so harmoniously with the landscape. We had to stop the car at least ten times on our approach as it came looming into view. A ...

Froyle Park Wedding // Kavita & Amrik
Dan and I had attended a traditional Indian wedding as guests before and I remember thinking how brilliant it would be to actually photograph one. Kavita and Amrik's Froyle Park wedding in December did not disappoint us! It was a cultural explosion of emotion, colour and energy like we had never seen before. With back-to-back ceremonies and traditions on the schedule, 3 bridal outfit changes and 200+ guests, this was not for the faint hearted to capture. Kavita and Amrik chose to have a rustic winter wedding just before Christmas at the beautiful Froyle Park in Hampshire. This historical manor house dates back to 1620 and is surrounded by 80 ...
