Spanish Wedding // Katie & Daniel

We wrapped up our destination wedding adventures this year with Katie and Daniel’s Spanish wedding at Casa Felix in Olivella, and we couldn’t have asked for a more amazing experience! Katie and Dan are regulars when it comes to visiting Spain, so it was only natural that they get married around the sun drenched vineyards of Olivella. The venue itself, Casa Felix, is a restored Catalan Masia which lies within the boundaries of an ancient stone wall with parts of it dating back to the 11th Century. As soon as you stepped inside it was like being transported back to another time, oozing with rustic charm and history, the dark and moody interiors really gave off a sense of old world romanticism.

Katie and Daniel met at university 12 years ago, and you could tell they had such a strong bond between them. The day itself was definitely an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish with lots of tears shed during the ceremony as the two brothers delivered a beautiful reading each, and then a round of moving speeches were made just as the sun set causing mass water works! We were also really lucky to work with Katie and Dan’s wedding planners Elaine and Lauren from A Spanish Do who were amazing on the day, everything ran like clockwork and we were looked after and fed more Paella than we could handle! The best moment for us though was the first dance, when Katie and Daniel signalled for everyone to join in, the energy was out of this world, you could see in that moment how loved and important these two were to their friends and family, and we were so happy to be there to capture it. East London Wedding // Shawn & Rachael
Shawn and Rachael's East London wedding was a non-stop whirlwind of events, and we're not quite sure how it all got squeezed into 8 hours! We first met Shawn and Rachael at a wedding fair last September where they happened to be walking past and came to take a look (i.e bag a glass of free champagne). They were a super friendly couple, and so excited to be planning their wedding day together, we hit it off and they booked an engagement session to boot!  Shawn and Rachael met working at a summer kids camp a few years ago 'where Rachel fell for my awesome guitar playing skills and Aussie accent' said Shawn. We really felt like we journeyed wit ...

Dalston Heights Wedding
In an age where it has become acceptable to hold your wedding reception in a warehouse and drink cocktails out of jam jars, we thought it was time to do a round up of London's hippest wedding venues (and no, they're not all East). So, if you've just got engaged and have a penchant for retro style with an edge, then you can cross a major task off your wedding to do list. Kicking off with Dalston Heights, this gem of a venue sits on the top floor of a former cardboard box factory in Hackney E8. It doesn't really get more hipster than this. Step inside and you are met with a huge 7,200 square footage of Attic space filled with vintage furniture ...

Ilaria and Derek // Borgotaro Wedding
My excitement shoots through the roof when we get to photograph a Borgotaro wedding. Not just because I spent my summers growing up there, and everything reminds me of being carefree, but I love a good catch up with my Italian family. There is nowhere quite like the humble beauty of this town and its panoramic backdrops. Nestled in a valley surrounded by the luscious green Italian Apennines, it has all the epic scenery you could wish for when shooting a wedding, and here we were for Ilaria and Derek's. Ready to roll. They'd been together for the best part of a decade and made the decision to marry in a church where many a family member had al ...
