When LA-based creatives Carly Pickett and Jade Ehlers invited us to capture their wedding, we knew it would be special. The couple chose to host a romantic english garden wedding at The Temple of Apollo, nestled in the paradisiacal gardens of Stourhead — a location steeped in ancient magic and Roman mythology, and recognised as a historic wedding venue in England.
Despite the curated focus on aesthetics, the day still unfolded with a spontaneous, joyful energy — a beautifully ‘undone’ quality that felt intentionally orchestrated by Jade, a creative director known for his work with Weezer, Brandi Carlile, and most recently, Brittany Howard of the former Alabama Shakes. For Carly, an artist specialising in classical portraiture, the setting must have felt like stepping into one of her own works.
Both based in the U.S., Jade and Carly were thrilled to host an intimate gathering for their destination wedding in the English countryside — a rare opportunity for the couple to create a moment of magic. With a backdrop of majestic Roman classical architecture and the organic romance of an English garden, friends and family from near and far experienced a European destination wedding that transcended reality and elevated every moment into something unforgettable

Immortalised in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice, the waterside gardens evoke a sense of timeless enchantment. Landmarks like The Temple of Flora and The Pantheon surround the wedding’s sacred site, The Temple of Apollo — now imbued with Carly and Jade’s love story.

With an intimate guest list of just 30 close friends and family, the celebration struck a rare balance between grandeur and warmth. Their English countryside wedding felt effortlessly elegant, with guests grounded once again after the vows by an al fresco dinner on the grounds of a Georgian Manor House.
A farm-to-table feast by Sam’s Kitchen Events encouraged guests to relax and reconnect, sharing nostalgia, laughter, and heartfelt conversations — punctuated only by touching speeches from Carly’s parents and other close family members, including her aunt (Courteney Cox) and her partner (Johnny McDaid).

THE NEXT DAY IN BATH
The magic didn’t end there. The next day, a trip to the historic city of Bath fulfilled one of Carly’s lifelong dreams — ordering coffee in her Katherine Tash wedding gown. That’s one unforgettable latte for everyone involved.
Capturing the essence of Carly and Jade’s wedding was a true honour — a celebration of ‘relaxed magic’ that perfectly embodied the couple’s artistic DNA.
